I prefer the looks of the Zonda (one of my favorite cars of all time), but the Huayra is gorgeous too. Pagani sure knows how to make cars.

Agreed. The attention to detail is second to none.

What an incredible waste of money.

In pretty much any sense. This is completely do nothing engineering that does nothing but cater to the vanity of the uber rich.

Define art, Joe.

You say this does nothing, but at what point do we stop spending on art?

I'm with you though, it a pretty good waste. That money will trickle down Laughing

I'm 100% from the school of thought that if you want to go fast there are plenty of ways to do it without spending money. A TaG kart corners harder than pretty much any sports car I can think of on the market. A shifter even more so and a 250 Formula E kart is probably the most cost effective way to achieve raw lap times on a circuit.

Pagani to me represents something more than speed or luxury. It's the attention to detail that I think draws people. Design is like that though. He really does marry design with function and speed in a way no other car on earth in my opinion does.

It's absolutely a waste of money if you just want luxury or you want to go fast, but this is the kind of thing that is bought with a person's heart, not their mind.

You have to admire the detail that goes into the build process.

That's like saying that if your next-door neighbor was really good at masturbating, you'd admire him for that.

Not to mention the fact that neither of those cars hold a candle to this:

And that was close to 50 years ago.

Matter of personal opinion and on what criteria you are basing your opinion. Race car compared to street legal cars......

From the statements you are making it seems that you believe the value of anything is nothing more than the cost of materials and time. If that were the case, then every t-shirt would be 1/10 of the cost, every pair of shoes would cost $5, every painting would sell for $20, etc.

I would be willing to bet that these cars, especially the likes of the 760rs, will be worth significantly more in 30-40 years if kept in pristine condition. In this sense, the value of these cars is very good. You could even say they are worth the price.

What makes a 800 sq ft house in California that costs $500,000 not a "waste?" Personally, I think it is but thousands of others seem to be fine spending that kind of money on small homes.

Not exactly sure what point you were trying to make with that comment. Saying that 500,000 is too high or low?

Anyways......don't show weakness by attacking a number in someone's argument. Try actually countering the argument. I understand that what I am asking you to do something significantly more difficult. Give it a shot.
