Hey all, I am hoping to reach out to some of you gopro, pro's and help me out a bit!
I see some awesome footage on Youtube, particularly some of Conner Wagner's videos mounted to the radiator. The all turn out so crisp and clear...
Well, I am having some issues. I just can't get rid of vibration. Mounted to the chassis, seat, radiator, body work, helmet, and side pod, all make it to grainy. I tried adjusting resolution, as well as frame rate to see if maybe it would mellow out. No luck....
With an original GoPro hero the video had less vibration, and instead had some "waves." Well now I have the Hero 3 Black edition, which is totally badass, except it has HORRIBLE video under vibration.
Anyhow, Thanks in advance if any of you can help me out. PS, what program is it that adjusts the video to be clear, by actually moving the frame around? Are there any good Video editor's out there better than Windows Movie maker, for windows of course?
Thanks again,
-Justin |

| What mount are you using? The flat sticky with the standard mount works well on my leopard and that thing vibrates like hell. |

Youtube has video stabilization. Upload your video, then select enhancements. You'll see "() Stabilize" to the far right.
I'm not sure how well it will work in your case, but it's worth a try. You can always revert to the original if you don't like the stabilize result. _________________ Randy

I think a lot has to do with the thing you are mounted to.
My weak Champion rad mounts vibrate way more then our friends NewLine rad videos.
Then my drivers fairing videos, the bad ones I discovered that the rubber grommets were worn out. When I replaced them the quality was way better.
Stabile mount= better videos

| I've used botht the sticky, as well as clamp mounts.... Same mounting that I did with the Hero 2, except my Hero 3 Black shows the vibration waaaay more. Maybe its just wirting speed, and or Frames per second making the difference. |

| With the hero 1 when I had bad vibration problems I inserted a small piece of foam between the case and camera, and seemed to work, also if the rad is shaking too much if possible zip tie the rad mount to a seat strut and that can stop it from shaking so much |

As with all Cam's the more stable the mount the less vibration,, Before you jump for a GoPro look at the other options like the RePlay XD1080 no case to worry about, and for downloading,, just pop out the SD card and put it in your computer read the card.... Compare Cams,, same price
leave me a message or just go to Replay.com |

Thanks Matt for the reference!!! I use the GoPro rollbar mount on the fairing and the GoPro flat sticky mount on the radiator. I also use the YouTube feature that lessens the vibration after I upload the video.
The key to both mounts is having the fairing and radiator mounts nice and rigid. I use 1" wide x 1/4" thick aluminum "strapping" material that I cut to length, bend & drill mounting holes. I use the same material for the fairing supports.

The distortion on get on my Contour Roam is what I would like to find a way to eliminate.
I have my camera mounted on my radiator using a strap mount. The actual mount has a piece of foam between it and the radiator to help with vibration. The mic still picks up strange sounds from vibration.

For editing I use Windows Live Movie Maker it is okay. In the past I have Used Power Director and prefer it but it does not work with the file format(.mov) that comes off my Contour. |

Got a Hero 3 Silver in the basket but which memory card is good for a day of karting? Is 32GB big enough for a few sprint races and some clowning in the pits?
Thanks,
