Been in karting for decades, I started on dirt in the 80's & 90's i've been feeling the itch to get dirty again with UAS series. It would be great if EKN had a section for Oval/Dirt racers to talk it up!
Is it time?

| Bob's 4 cycle seems to have that market locked up. Wondering if it would get any amount of traffic. |

Not that I'm into dirt racing, but it sure looks like fun, but others may quote:

That will never happen....first sign of rain and they all pack-up and head home...
Wish I had time to get the LTO chassis out of the rafters and back on the track... |

| Dirt Oval Racing / Dirt Road Racing . The great thing about Dirt Racing, is you don't need the latest greatest Kart or part to be fast . Straight rail chassis or LTO chassis can be fast. KT100 F200 Flat Head and UAS Unlimited. also a bunch of other classes in there also. |

Personally, I'm a huge fan of any speedway karting, as it plays to my background in Super Late Model racing. I love short track racing, and that's what oval karting is all about. I've run at both Daytona and Tulsa, and would love to get back into it. For me, the biggest barrier of entry is the tire program - I'm not a fan of needing a wall of tires in my trailer to go racing.
That said, if people wanted to have a place on EKN to talk about oval karting - dirt or asphalt - I'd be happy to add one to the line-up. Yes, 4cycle.com is the primary home for discussion on this segment of the sport, but it wouldn't hurt to have some hear as well to present the information to new racers who find EKN.
We'll keep watching this thread for feedback. _________________ Rob Howden

| Biggest barrier of entry is the tire program .I have to agree with you on tires. That's why companies like Burris Tires has spec tire programs for race tracks. With Karting once you cross in to tire shaving applying tire treatments inside and out . You really cross in to no man's land, for what you will do in belief. That is what i have to do to win. But yes i would like to see a section for Dirt Karting . |

Yes,
I like the moderators on this forum, gave up on that other one when manufacturer bashing got out of hand.... _________________ John Matthews
