What's the first thing you would change if you had a lack of mid corner grip?

Thanks,

Gary K.

Thanks Glenn,

At the rear.

And Rick, it's not my grip on the wheel, it's more like my grip on reality!

Longer rear hubs, stiffer rear axle, put in rear bar (if available), add seat struts to hanger, narrow rear, that's a start.

Gary,
The mid corner grip could be a number of things.. Most likely its driver technique If the kart is working every where else. I dont wanna tell you your driving needs help but I stumbled on a great article adressing this issue. Go to www.murphybros.com then choose the tech link. The article sheds alot of light on what a kart can and can't do with an emphasis on cornering......hope this helps

How soft/stiff is the axle?

How much castor do you have?

Is it both left and right turns mid corner oversteer?

Are you braking into the turn at all before it looses grip?

Does the grip return on throttle or widening the turn radius?

How much castor do you have? This is an 80 with straight pills. This is one of the next steps.

Is it both left and right turns mid corner oversteer? It's more of a slide at constant steering input and throttle verses a steering induced slide.

Are you braking into the turn at all before it looses grip? Yes. Mostly the guy runs at Amago which is almost all cut and thrust.

Does the grip return on throttle or widening the turn radius?

NO!

Thanks John,
