This what I run on CRF450. I run two fuel valves, one feed with tee to return valve . Setting fuel PSI is easy. Just open feed all you need to do is slowly close the return valve. Once you figure out how many cranks on the valve. you can do it the same every time. Never had and issues with this set up. Bike carbs are trickle to feed deals. When you go to PSI bike carbs aren't liking it to much. I run the same system on my GS1100 Turbo bike going through a SS Super B carb.

Throw away the "Y" and pipe the fuel directly into the carb. Put a 1.4 needle valve seat in there and be done with it. Also, make sure your vent hoses are up above the top of the carb.

Not really, the float angle would be way off, the stock FCR is a downdraft....

Should I change seat and needle or just the seat? What's the diffrence between that and the OEM seat?

Just the seat. The difference is the the 1.4 is smaller, and won't push the float needle open and flood the motor.

Hahahaha, that's got you stumped now Jimmy.
Best you just stick with the 409 and driving, leave the technical stuff alone. Laughing

lol I guess youre rite Sam.

It seems strange that the gfs works great on the keihen carbs because they're designed to be gravity fed. Aren't the 250f engines gravity fed?

BTW Sam, just looking at the pics of your kart I can see a couple problems thats costing you time on the track. Maybe you should hire me to set your stuff up and you can grab that bottle of 409 Wink

It's got a Kehin FCR carb and yes it is gravity fed. I'm working on a gravity feed system. Something a little diffrent than what Swedtech offers but I'm not seeing why that system wouldn't work?

If its the stock carb off a honda crf250 it was designed to work off a gravity feed, seems logical that a gravity feed system would work best.

The problems you're having is because the pump pressurizing the carb, over powering the needle valve and causing fuel to come out the bowl over flow. With the Keihen, some of that fuel ends up bypassing the jets and ends up in the cylinder, causing it to load up a little.
Also, the carb was designed for the vent lines to run down not up, it causes problems when they're not routed as intended. The system I posted a link to solves all these problems.

Look at all the suggestions, same stuff we've heard 1000 times on this forum and are just band aids for problems that the gfs cures.

BTW I dont get a dime if ST sells a gfs system, I suggest it because I struggled with the same problems your having before the gfs came out.

That's my take on it also. It's very dificult to duplicate gravity feed without actualy using gravity to supply the fuel. I've looked into pressure regulators and flow controls and the problem is that both the supply and demand vary. An electric pump could be set up to work but there isn't anything to power it with.

There are a few things I don't like about the Swedtech system. I'm going to make something I think will be better. I'll post the results in a few days.

See this is why people get fed up giving advice, people ask for a solution to problem, they get it, and decide they know better.....

Dude, blow the $6 bucks, get the smaller seat and be done with it. I've been down this road before, and it works..... Read through a FCR manual, and it states a gravity feed seat, and a fuel pump pressure seat, it's designed that way...

Chris, have you ever tried a gfs on this carb? If the FCR "down draft" carb wont work with a gravity feed system, how does it work in a dirt bike with a gravity feed system

BTW ive tested just about every fuel system created, low pressure pump, pump around system, pump around system with in-line reducer, pump around system with one low pressure pump, changed needle seat, tried the Y, changed float heights, single pump magic can, etc etc. All have problems and dont work as good as the current gfs.

Brian I'm very curious to what you don't like about the GFS. Not at all trying to be confrontational. The wheel has gotten better over time no reason this can't too. Would you mind sharing you're experience when using it? Good bad or other?

I'm not suggesting that I know better nor am I saying your suggestion won't work. I just have another idea to solve the problem I'm going to try first. Now if that anoys you luckily for me that's not a problem I need to deal with.
