The recent questioner was a small step in trying to determine ways to promote participation at our events. In recent years a handful of individuals, at different times and different places, have, and continue, to promote the sport by organizing events and keeping the supkarting events alive.
For our sport to continue its growth, it is ESSENTIAL to promote venues where attendance can be maximized. To better promote participation we should also consider ONE organization representing all superkart events in US. This organization will need to have representation from various “regions”. It is not sufficient to just have a few do all the work and organize events here and there. If you want your sport to exist and continue to grow, it is essential we all participate in helping to build THE organization.
Recently a number of superkart guys were at the inaugural F1 race at Circuit of Americas. Frankly, there is no reason for us to be just spectators. Superkarts have been support race for F1 in AUS, Canada and elsewhere in the past. In US, we have had support races for American Le Mans, Grand AM, etc., more than a few times and at different tracks. There is no reason for us not to be a support event at the Austin F1 race, except organization and sufficient participation.
It is all in our hands. We can continue to stand on the sidelines and hope.... or be the 'exceptional' can do group and make this happen.
Your participation, your choice.

Firouz,
I support your effort to get participants to form a bond and agree to attend the most desired venues. Disposable income continues to be the deciding factor in the majority of racer's ability to attend. I respectfully suggest that we build up the club membership (most economical racing) then expand to a regional, and then a national participation level. If we use myself for comparison: I have been employed throughout this past decade, but have limited myself to regional racing because that is all that I can afford to do. Our club is showing signs of recovery for the first time in the last several years and I plan to attend all my club races. Since I am financially able, I will also attend a regional event to help support another regional club. This ground up philosophy seems to be working on the West coast.
The joy is in the journey |

Firouz - Rob - Ardy
Not clear who is doing this but Thank you for your efforts. think I sent my reply to Ardy!??
There has got to be more than 15 Super Karters interested in growing the sport.
Understanding our locations and willingness to travel is a start.
seems that building an event - series, or organizing transportation, or what ever else is needed, is a major undertaking.
Who has this and where are you going with it?
I'm only 1 season into Super Karting but have 25-30 years road racing experience...open to helping. |

I'm sure there are a lot more superkarts interested in growing the sport. I know of 5 more, including myself, right here in central ohio. This is the first I saw of the pole taken, mainly because I've been to busy building my new kart shop to get online to see whats new.
Last year was also my first year in Superkarts and even though I didn't have a very good year I loved it and am committed to the sport. I want to be very involved in Superkarts. If there is anything I can do in my area to help count me in. |
