Michael

Is this only for France you think?

All I know is the D2 could be improved upon. Not my favorite tire to drive on.

Using Google Translate it appears to be the next evolution of the D2.

Blake,
Here in France the last couple of years we've been using a Bridge-stone YLZ thats almost like the YKB for almost every rotax race except Rotax challenge
If I had to guess I'd say its going to be a softer side wall and maybe maybe a little softer rubber

Whether this tire will evaluable everywhere is a wait and see.

The rumer here is Bridgestone will be getting out of kart tires Shocked Rolling Eyes but you know how rumers go???!!!! Wink

EKN was notified by MAXSpeed Group that the F2 is exactly like the D2 Mojo tire, just branded F2 for French competitions.

Dave, I'm still not sure that settles the matter. In that release that M. Boone had, it said that the French D2 was being replaced by the F2. This would make me think that either there was no real change in France (just in the model name), or their D2 was originally different then ours, or their F2 actually is different and the U.S. market just isn't getting it (or getting it yet). Either way, a little more clarification would be appreciated.

The D2 and F2 are the same, as I stated above. The French competitions will utilize the F2 tire. Thus, if they do not run the F2 tire, they would be removed from the event. Just like running a SKUSA race not on the MG 'SKUSA' tire or a WKA race not on a Bridgestone spec tire.

So, in their regulations, the D2 tire was replaced by the F2 tire as the spec tire to be used in 2013. Just like the D1 tire is now the spec tire in the Junior Max, Mini Max and Micro Max in the United States to put them in line with the rest of the world.

I'm a little confused David if they are the same then whats the point of giving us a different name(f2) maybe $$$$$oops€€€€€€ Wink

Although the Jr's in France run the dunlop SL3's and NOT the mojos! Confused

I need to look a little more into this on my end!

Maxspeed may also not want to deal with demands for a different tire Idea Razz

From speaking with MAXSpeed, its to ensure the tires used for French events are purchased from the French Mojo distributors, just like it is in the United States and Canada.

But yes, you may know more being in the country then we do, and I'm sure you have the connections.

I would hope that all official Rotax Max Challenges across the world would use the same tires at all events, obviously by your statement that is not the case.

Here in France Rotax Jr's is called "National" it replaced National 100 when it was killed! We have the Champion of France "National" at our track next year 200 pilots just Rotax Jr's " BUT " Rolling Eyes this year also National SR same motor different age and weight.

Ok David and everyone

This is what I was told yesterday the F2 is the same as the D2 it's just F for France
"BUT" Confused The D2 has gone through some changes "What exactly" he couldn't tell me as they haven't seen the tire yet nobody has and MOJO's not talking but was told there's been some improvements Very Happy ! Everyone will just have to wait till Mid february when they deliver the tires.

On another Note The Bridgestone tires are dead in france only one class is using them cadets. So no more Bridgestone Cup Sad

Hearing lots of good feedback on MG tires!! May need to keep and eye on them for the future in Europe Wink Shocked
