Hi Dimitri

I have heard that in years past that they are fazing out the 12.5 carbs.

Once the Euro Challenge rules are released, we will get a good idea of what to expect. But it seems each Country now, creates there own regulations along with the Official Rotax rules.

Sincerely,

Is that the 8.5 with the current float/jet/needle combination? Or, are there other changes? Not sure about others, but the 8.5 has sat in storage for most folks I know because it doesn't perform as well. Is Rotax trying to make the engine perform worse on purpose?

the decision for the combination for the 8.5 venturi is not set yet. But it is said that only one combination will be allowed.

I drive here in german and belgian Rotaxand the usage is around 50/50 on venturis. one sy that 8,5 is better, the other one say 12,5

But whn you buy here a new engine it comes automatically with 8,5.

Good to see some flexibility with the Idle emulsion tubes - a step in the right direction Wink

Agreed ... this will help tune the carb to run better, but these changes each year are enough to make us crazy Confused

Hmm, sell everyone 12.5 Venturi kits, spec the 12.5 for mini max, now make the 12.5 illegal. Oh thats just swell.........

yeah thats a shame from rotax side, but it his is a small part. if you have a good basic setup for the 8,5 thats not a big problem. little bit of testing and you get it

WHY????????? Shocked What are they thinking, what is the reasoning for now not allowing the 12.5 after it was pushed as a big plus a few years ago.

Now they are even dictating the height of the floats, again WHY????????

Most of the changes Rotax has made over the years I could understand even if I did not agree but this one makes no sense.

So let me get this straight. In the US for RMAX for minimax they are changing the Venturi from 12,5 to 8,5 the factory default.

That really sucks. I just bought a new kart 8 weeks ago for my son and shipped the carb back to the dealer coz it wasn't to spec. Came with a 8,5. He changed it to 12,5.

Now it seems I have to have it flipped back to default rotax.

WTF.
