I'm not sure exactly what this helmet accessory is called so bare with me.
I was looking at helmets and came across this one. Does anyone know what that part is called that is attached to this visor? I have never seen this and thought it looked kind of neat. I haven’t been able to find this online to purchase but thought I would ask around on here.
The link to see the picture is listed below.
Thanks again for all the help people!

It's a strip of Zylon (like carbon fiber) that F1 has mandated to all FIA8860-rated helmets to add further protection to the weak point where the visor meets the shell of the helmet. It's mandatory now after Massa's accident in '09.
Not sure if the public can buy them, and if so, they're probably probably pretty expensive. _________________ T.J. Koyen

Back in the old days we used duct tape. Definitely didn't look as cool though _________________ John Matthews

As a visor strip to block the sun? Or as protection to keep an errant spring off Rubens' F1 car from crushing your skull? _________________ T.J. Koyen

It's Awesome the engineering that goes into F1 safety equipment. I certainly hope something like this is available to whomever wants it and can pay. Even club racers like to go home to their families at night.... _________________ John Matthews
