Chris,
Where do I put the shim? Should I just turn one on the lathe? 2mm? I assume? I assume I am basically installing a washer that would take up the space of the wider gear??

So....all I need to do is get the '97 main shaft and move all my gears etc. from the '94 over to the new shaft. I don't need any shimming etc. Correct?
I'd just shim my '94 transmission but I don't see anyone saying that they have done this and that it works! |
It works!

| Is it as simple as shimming the distance to make up for the extra width of the built in gear? |

| Well....this does not make any sense. The 6 speed shaft is actually LONGER than the 5 speed shaft that came out of the '99. I'm speaking of the distance from edge to edge of the gear pack (the part between the bearings). I included the thrust washers when I measured. How can THAT be right????? |

Well can you give me a hint??? Please??? I'm begging here!!!!! Seriously....I'd rather do it myself so that I can learn for the future (generally I try to do all my own work). However, I'll send it to you if I must. What all would you need? The cases (all new bearings are already installed), six speed tranny, crankshaft and gasket?

Todd, I'm sorry, I'm not really going to get into on here, if someone can't figure it out from all the information that's posted, then you really shouldn't doing it.... _________________ East Coast Super Kart Series
