Ok so what are you going to race i.e. sprint, dirt, oval, road race? if its sprint ot rr then you will need a streight ( I can spell its late) chassie but if you are raeing dirt or oval then you will need an offset, pick a chassie that a local shop (that go to the races) carries and can help set it up for you. I dont know much about 4 cycles because i rae a Yamaha. But this is the basic info

my 2 cents

For sprint I would say a Birel AR-4 or a Margay Brava.

Chris-
The PCR Jaguar Quattro is an extremely successful 4 Cycle sprint kart. We actually sent complete 4 Cycle engine packages to PCR to test to properly develope this chassis for this application. With the set-up information supplied you can be assured of a great handling, very high quality chassis. Thanks,
Doug Mayr

If you guys take a look at the National scene
you will mostly see Coyote, Margay, Bandit, Invader.
I do have somthing to say about the guys at Franklin, we had this guy come to the Burris Circle Tour with his kid in a PCR kart and it had Burris tires on it sold to them by Franklin(Burris is the spec tire), This guy came into the store a newbe wanted to race the oval tracks and he stated he told Franklin this and Franklin understood, they sold him a PCR sprint kart with 5" wheels and Burris tires so they knew where he wanted to race.
I think this kart shop could have ordered a oval kart for this guy but they didnt use there best judgement.
This guy has spread his missfortune purchase all over the pitts at the oval series.
I won't name the guy but I'm sure Franklin might.
"Give the karter what they need not what's best for you"

Rich
I don't see how you can slam Franklin for selling this newbie a atraight up kart for the burris tour.
They sold it with the spec tires it needed for the series.
We used to race the Lake Geneva track with straight up karts and even some left mounted engines. It is easy to put the necessary amount of weight on the straight up kart for the high speed ovals. Now slow dirt tracks can be trickier, but around here the tracks are high speed ovals.
This karters problem is that he is new and entered karting in the most aggressive type of karting there is except for maybe street racing.
In karting there is a very steep learning curve and not every one will be able to cope.
The Burris tour is over loaded with classes and no-one has the time to help the new karter. He should of started some where else and I'm sure the guys at Franklin discussed his options for racing.
Doug and Greg have been at it a long time and you probably couldn't find a better stocked facility.
And , if I may ask, just what did you do to help this Karter?

Jerry

Jerry I put the kart on my scalestand adjusted it blew up the tires to get stagger.
Jerry things have changed in oval racing they have been building offset chassis for 12 years now its nothing new.
A sprint kart against a offset is at a total disadvantage to be competive.
Your an enduro guy your self how good would you do at Road America in an offset kart?
This is what I'm getting at they should have sent this guy to a shop that sold oval karts they are a sprint shop.
Sell the people what they like not what you like.
