How to setup heel stops?

Guys,

My feet are not big enough to keep them firmly on the floor and still be able to work the throttle. Every time I hit any kind of bump or get a little loose and then have the kart snap back, it causes my foot to move the throttle around. That makes my CR125 VERY difficult to control! I want to try heel stops but I have not seen them being used before. I have a set on my newer kart but they are installed all the way forward against the front frame rail (can't see how they did anything up there). Anyway.....are they supposed to go in front of your heel or behind your heel? The ones I have seen are angled on the top. Does the edge of the angled bit go into your heel or does it point away from your heel so that your foot rests on the plate? The ones on my kart appear to be plastic and they are just an "L", no tapered piece. If someone had a picture of them installed and a person using them properly, that would make it much easier to understand their setup.

I use them for the opposite reason my feet are to big (size 13) without the kart shoes and heel stops my feet get jammed up on the front fairing and sometimes on the throttle cable and that can be interesting. The heel stops with sides keep my oversize feet in the right place. The stops below are available at TS Racing.

put a couple springs on the throttle so its harder to push that way if you hit a bump there is a smaller chance of bliping the throttle

I don't have to worry about the springs. My kart already has two on the throttle. I bought the kart from YOU......or your dad anyway! I have not put an engine on it yet but I was basing my question on my old kart. Thanks for the advice though.
