Chuck, etc,
are we just speculating here, re Honda and the World formula ??
I have searched for info and can find no hint that anyone other than Briggs are committed to this - unfortunately !
I would love to see others develop these motors but i don't see it yet.
Any leads ??
Ecomotor, really ? i would be surprised as they are such a small outfit, they would find it hard to build a motor to the cost limit, and unable to support a "World" scale market . Their current 250 kart motor is totally unsuitable, and expensive.
A more likely supplier could be MT Motori , who already have a similar spec 4-stroke, except its 250cc.
Is the Briggs motor available yet ? |

| The Briggs W/F is not available yet, there were 5 karts with these motors on them at the RA race last weekend but they were not in true W/F trim rather just different combinations of parts used for testing in a long track situation. of the 5 karts, none had any motor damage after 3 full days of running. It was Yvon Leon (President of CIK-FIA) who said "... Ecomotor from Holland will also produce a motor." He also said that this class is made to get interest in China, India and Africa, all real hot beds of karting now, eh?
But this class is also chassis specific,"the spec frames have to built in various countries to eliminate paying for customs fees and would greatly reduce shipping costs" with only 30x2mm axle, 3 bearing type allowed, no magnesium parts, etc.
Also he talked about CIK performing "doping tests" ! |
