What feed back would you like? The new ones and the old ones work great but are expensive to replace. If its a question of spending the extra when buying a new kart with them or without them my vote would be with them.

The Duraclan brakes on my CRG are the best I have ever used! The Duraclan do require a little more pedal pressure than the steel rotors but for me it is better.

Clarification: "Ceramic" is a misnomer in that the rotors are actually aluminum with a ceramic coating.

I've used both the steel and the ceramics and IMO the VEN05 ceramics are the best brakes on the market. Yes, they do require just a little bit more brake pressure but they are extremely powerful, modulate very well, have extremely good pedal feel, never fade and the pads (green) last much longer than the red ones for the steel rotors. IMO the up front additional costs are worth it.

Additionally, they weigh significantly less than the steel ones (I've heard up to 5-7 pounds less for all three rotors) so they help if you're trying to make weight. Don't ask me how I know... Laughing .

The obvious drawback is cost.

The rear rotor, because it hangs down below the frame, is more susceptible to damage than the steel one due to the ceramic rotor being more brittle. Make sure to use some sort of rear rotor protector. CRG has one that works very well that has a replaceable sacrificial plastic piece that acts as a skid. It's designed to fit most, if not all, CRG manufactured chassis such as: GP, DR, Maranello, etc... Buy an extra plastic skid to keep as a spare.

The only caution I would mention is that there was a manufacturing problem ~1 yr ago where the rotors, especially the fronts, would crack from one or more of the crossed drilled venting holes to the inside dia of the rotor and could cause catastrophic failure... Shocked . I had a set of these that did have a couple of hairline cracks develop on each of the front rotors but I caught it before anything bad happened. There is a visual difference between the old and new style and is easily discerned.

Replacement costs for VEN05 ceramic rotors:
front (each): $475 - $550
rear: $575 - $650+

I've changed from a GP to Vemme chassis just before the SuperNats. I transferred the whole brake system from the GP to the Vemme with no problem. Additionally, I bought two new ceramic front rotors from Vemme and was told that they are machined from billet rather than being cast and they fit the VEN05 system just fine except for my having to buy new hubs for them to fit on.
