thank you, at this point i am looking for some cassette bolts to connect the upper radiator support.
not sure what size (dia. ) the bolt is in terms of mm thread. I need to make a trip to ace hardware. i would really like stainless steel or rust resistant bolts.
on the bottom mount, at least in my case, it seems i can install the radiator mount without a space like you have. |

Cesar,
It may have already been mentioned in the 6 pages of radiator talk, but make sure you get some of that screen to put over the front and back of your radiator. Dirt, rocks, and David Hobbs' Klag will hit the rad fins. Without the screen in place, the rad fins will bend and you'll end up with a radiator that doesn't let much air through.
If unsure what screen I'm referring, go back to page 5 and Ken has some nice closeup shots. _________________ Randy

Cesar
got some stainless steel wire mesh for my son's rad., made 2 pieces for front/back and tye wrapped on the sides, looks great and saves the fins from damage, makes the rad. easy to clean also, simply made the 2 pieces large enough to fold over the side of the rad. then tye wrapped the 2 pieces down the side of the rad., 6 tye wraps holds in place _________________ jlgracing

| And be sure there's a gap between the screen and radiator so rocks will deform the screen before damaging the radiator. |

No way!!! Cesar, just go get that screen welded on there. No need for the cheap, easy way. That would be crazy. |

Personally, I slipped some woven cloth mesh underneath the vertical "slats" that run down the front/back sides of the rad. & have done fine with that. Considering the amount of flex that mesh wires have in them, an object with sufficient weight will impact & cause damage, irregardless of a few mm clearance. The mesh really helps dissipate & absorb impact energy.

I went to homedepot tonight and got some longer bolts and some washers to install and mount the spike radiator.
Since the mounts can slide from side to side I did not need any of the spacers I was asking previously. I just lined up the radiator and bolted it on.
I noticed looking at several images online and a few cars at the track the people mount these radiators at different heights in relation to the frame let's say.
I mounted mine about 1/2" from the bottom rail and it is angled to match the seat for now which I would say its at a 45 deg. I know I am going to drive the car and see the temps and either lean it more toward the back or stand it up more. I figured I would want the radiator as low and possible. I also moved it away from the seat in a way to match where the motor is in efforts to "balance" things out a little bit. I do not have any clearance problems with the NA2 side pod.
I will take pictures of the weekend. Very nice radiator and mounts !!
The overflow bottle doesn't need to vent or does it?
How often to you guys refill you radiator? |

I check mine every time at home before I leave for the track!
Otherwise only if it gets hot!

So how does that work in the center part of the radiator?
