To find out you'd best take a trip to the track you want to run at and look around, see what chassis is winning there. Good move cause then there will be someone that can help you when you have problems. (and you will)

Jack is right about going out to the track and see who has what and what is winning. But if your a beginner, until your driving skills develope, the chassis isn't the weakest link. Seat time is.

Probably the most successful dirt oval kart in production today is the Phantom Nemesis. It's got all the adjustments but you don't have to use them all until you understand them. www.phantomchassis.com

The way I understand it SSC didn't really have the time to work with the kart that's why they dropped it, to spend there time on the sprint stuff. The organizations didn't snuff it out. I got that from the horses mouth. (Don't kid about that last part! )

I believe he may have been refering to the rule for oval karts that says they must be American made (at least I think that's right).

Todd:

Yes, this is what I have heard. Only American made. Hopefully this will change.

I just read a email about the 'Unlimited All-Stars National Championship' held at Naugle Speedway in Western Pennsylvania October 6. The Champ, a guy by the name of Bergfelt driving a CRGkart powered by a Parilla Sudam on Burris tires became the first Ever Unlimited All-Stars National Champion.

Down here in North Carolina, its all about Phantom at the oval tracks. I would be curuios to see how the CRG would do on one of these hard and fast 1/4 miles. I remember seeing a Birel at Tulsa a few years back and he going pretty good.

There is a chassis made in Canada called SLACK that is winning some races right now. I think they are building them in Niagra Falls NY so they are eligible to race WKA races (I think).

Either way, its all about the set up. Im sure R. Moon or Tod Miller could win on a CRG right away. Tires and Set-up are the key on the ovals.
