Cesar,

Rotating the exhaust will solve the issue with burning the bumper. The bumpers proximity to the pipe is not an issue, it's the flow of hot exhaust that will melt the bumper. Goebel may be trolling the majority of the time he's on here, but that's actually sound advice.

Also no, it won't affect performance.

Cesar, You may not be doing it intentionally but you are cruising for the bad comments you are getting. This thread is a perfect example, you have three choices to take care of your problem and all of them have been mentioned.

1. Rotate the silencer (Cheapest)
2. Modify the silencer (Next Cheapest)
3. Buy another silencer (Most expensive)

The tone of your posts is one of a very, very young man (You say you are not and I accept that) that only wants comments that agree with what you were already thinking. On internet forums that is usually known as being a troll.

Lighten up a bit and consider your options based upon some good advice given you on this forum.

No flames needed, I'm actually trying to help.

Thanks for the help. Its not that I am listening. The problem is that if do not do as certain people say then I am stupid.

So I was given options on this thread. I asked straight out it cutting the pipe would damaged it and I was told no. Great ! that is all I wanted to know but then you get people like mike adding stupid comments.

Every thread ends like this. I don't have this problem on other forums. Sad

It doesn't matter but the flange serves no purpose and doesn't look good. Cut the elbow off or if you want and elbow then take it to a metal fabricator and he can cut and weld on another elbow or even take the flange off and point it in a diffrent direction. I wouldn't exchange it for that it's more trouble than it's worth.

That Rotax Sr is going to seem like a toy when you get the shifter going. Get a rib vest.

Please tell me you will have a GoPro for your first shifter outing. I have to see this.

Cesar "I" find you are way to arrogant at this point in the game. Your not listening to the advice given. Your waiting for people to agree with YOU and you know what?????? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

This is what I think will happen when you do finally get "YOUR" kart on the track.

1) You head out on the track going what you think is "fast" and all the mini rotax's are blowing by you !!!! Laughing Laughing

2) You head out on track missing shifts ,over revving the motor and you get to the first long straight nail the gas and scare the crap out of yourself and park it!

3) Being your arrogant self roll out on the track like your the best! Rolling Eyes Trying to shift get to the first straight full blast get to the end going way to fast Rolling Eyes brake way to late and finish in the barriers. Broken kart $$$$$ and maybe a broken you (hope not)!

Or a combination of all three!

So you drove a Rotax and think it's very very fast I think I said that but what do I know! Razz You spent more time off track than on I'll bet Razz

So think about that ride in a rotax and add about 20 other things you'll need to think about and it all happening half again faster.. Still think your ready for a shifter???

For the sake of everybody else on the track I sure hope so!!

Good Luck Hot rod you'll need it! Laughing Laughing

MB

P.S. I sure hope someone will be there filming it as I'd really like to be there to see it but not willing to pay for the ticket or the 8 hr plane ride just to watch you............. Confused

Cesar
Don't discount what these guys are saying. My son started on dirt karts, wanted to move up to sprint karts, i bought him a used but good Easykart 125 as a start, he practiced almost 6 months at all the tracks in Fla. before actually entering a race, trust me it was a learning experience for both of us, so 1 day my son says "hey dad why don't you take the kart for a spin" so I did, now i've driven an IMSA car at Sebring (1979/80 12hrs) and i thought this will be a piece of cake and i'll show my son a thing or two, I ran the kart a few laps and came in, got out of the kart and he says "well, what do you think" and I says " Son, you're on your own, it's to close to the ground, it's to fast and i'm way to old!" Trust me I'm not to embarrassed to admit this either.

With this being said, I've seen a couple of guys with Tag kart experience jump into a shifter kart for the first time saying "watch this lap I lay down" and what idiots they looked like, one couldn't even make thru the first 180 turn without spinning and killing the motor, didn't even make one lap!
Now, I love my son, and he is itching to get into a shifter and i have to convince him to master his 2nd Tag kart first, this is his 2nd Tag chassis in 4 yrs and going from a Birel 30mm chassis to a Gillard 32mm chassis has been quite a learning curve as the tracks we run at (FKCS) conditions change from yr. to yr., 1 yr. raining, next yr. hot and dry, if you stay in karting long enough you'll find this out,

All i'm implying as are the rest of the guys on this forum, take your time, don't jump in over your head as it will not be fun and that is a VERY, VERY important thing in karting, take your time, learn the kart, learn to drive, and don't forget, when you learn those two things, it will be fun to race.
I'm not being critical of you or the questions you've asked on this forum.

if you want to, you can pm me,i'll give you my phone # and we'll talk

Thanks for reading this Cesar.
