I'm not saying that you shouldn't have a track in the Daytona area, you should! But anything the Speedway has to do with, they expect to make money with. And that could price you right out of the game.

A nice local track, with a good local program, that is affordable, is the way to grow karting in any area.

How much more are we paying for a WKA entry fee over the course of the year just to cover the fee's for renting the Daytona infield? Probably more than we think. Despite this I still I think its a big race for a reason, and shouldn't be changed if the entries aren't bad.

Unfortunately because of the rise in fuel prices there aren't as many drivers that can afford to run a series that travels such far distances, so I honestly think that entries wouldn't change if the event was any "Better". (Same costs, same drivers) I know some don't like the idea of not being on a permanent track, but I always liked the event because it removed the benefits of testing weeks in advance; leveling the playing field.
