I used to race a stock (methanol) Briggs in WKA sanctioned races, but left the US to work overeas for about five years. I'm getting ready to move to SF/Bay Area, where most of the tracks seem to be IKF. Now I have to decide what to do with my engine, but I'm not familiar with the current WKA rules and IKF rules relative to WKA rules that were in place when I quit racing five years ago.
1) Will my engine fit into the IKF class structure? What modifications will I need to make to be legal?
2) If it wont fit into the IKF, will I be able to sell it to a WKA racer as is? Have the WKA stock Briggs rules changed significantly over the last five years? Is the motor now outdated technology? (Can't remember the specs on the motor, but it was built in '96.)
I apprecitate ANY info you guys can give me. I'm totally out of the loop after my time away, but very motivated to begin racing again.
Thanks,
