| Our club runs a night race once a year, and while from the pits it seems that there are too many dark areas, when you're out there and running it doesn't seem too dark at all. That said, I might feel differently if I didn't have seat time on that track in the daylight first, so I'd suggest a daytime session or 2 before going in the dark. |

If the track allows practicing at night they will have lights. Imagine if you will, a track without lights and people practicing with headlights on their karts. The first one to spin blinds oncoming traffic. Boom!!!!
Go to the track and look up. If there are lights you can practice at night.
And Cesar, at this point many of us would love if you'll invite an ekarting member to come out with you on your first day out with your new kart. Video would be cool too

That's a good way to get killed...not to mention giving the rest of the karting community a bad name. _________________ Blaise Haynes

There are lots of good ways to get killed. That's just one of them. _________________ Sex is like pizza. When it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. |

| As I see it, the only real way to to kart racing at night is if the entire track has floods. (like singapore F1) |

Not IR, but thermal sights are great for keeping an eye on tire temps. |

Yup, got that one covered too, here is a deer @ 225 yards at night through one of my FLIR Thermal Weapon scopes, accurate to 0.5*F:
I can even measure the exact temperature:

Any photos of kart motors through that thermal camera? Would be cool to see an image of where the heat is after a race or practice laps. |

Actually, they are thermal video cameras, those are just some frames taken out of the NTSC 30fps video stream.
So yeah, would be neat to make a thermal kart video..... _________________ I spend my money on hunting, racing, women, and whiskey - the rest I waste. |

What would be really cool would be to mount one to a kart if it's feasible and see the temp of the motor as you are out doing laps Now that would be the business. |
