Thanks again for your input Jimmy.
Is RLV going to make this the standard pipe and obsolete the 1 piece pipe?

You are obviously doing something wrong

Hi Mike,
I follow the manufactures instructions and don't mount the pipe to the frame. It is all completely mounted to the engine points.
BTW, they get used at least every 6-8 weeks for a good 3 gallons of fuel through each engine.
PS. Just received another brand new package from Shark today, std R4H pipe.
PSS. Damn, I'm leaving Vegas on Tuesday before SKUSA event, I didn't realize when I purchased my International flights, wish I was there to catch up with you guys. Have fun. _________________ www.samzavaglia.com |

Here is a much better pic on how I mount the 1 piece pipe without a single problem. Brand new package just arrived from Sharkshifter.

Sam, thats exactly how I have my pipe mounted. Ive tried solid mount, rubber mount, o-ring manifold and stock manifold. Didnt make a difference, the pipes would crack in the same spot.
They must have just had a bad batch or something, at times I was getting less than two months on a pipe. The last one I bought has lasted 10 months with no problems. |

My first RLV pipe purchased back in 2008 was perfect...no issues...and eventually sold thinking that new was better. Then right after that...3 cracked pipes, including one w/ 3 races and one w/ 1 race. So my last three pipes probably came from the bad batch. Hope they fixed this problem because sounds to me that this is the weak link in the selling point that the Stock Honda Package is solid, reliable, affordable... Going to run w/ my welded pipes for now until I get my hands on the new spec pipe, but I will be unable to challenge Jimmy for victory until then.

I don't think I saw idea mentioned above -- for what its worth I had RLV repair my cracked R4 pipe. They replaced the section(s) that was cracked for a reasonable price. At least it worked good for me. _________________ '08 CRG|CR125|Stock Moto |
