battery life and placement on chassis

went thru another battery today on my son's mini max...it's about 5-6 weeks old...I charged it regularly between track days (everyweekend) and was aware of how these engines can be battery killers...but didnt think it would only last 5 or 6 weeks...I guess it's just a cheap battery, poorly welded plates...we have the battery mounted behind the seat, wondering if I move it to the side of the chassis opposite the engine would I have less vibration and possibly more life for the battery...any thoughts, opinions?

what battery is it exactly ?, every yuasa/rotax battery ive had has lasted 2 years on snr max.

gonna move the battery from behind the seat, think that might help...also it was a no name battery and pretty cheap...I took it back but didnt have my receipt...he said if I would have had my receipt he would have just gave me a new one, one year full warranty no pro rate...lesson learned, and he did give 25% off the new one I bought...he told me to keep my receipt and I could just trade them out as they go bad....think I'll get a couple for back up and save the receipts...Sunn Battery, Jacksonville, FL....Price? I can buy ten of these for what a rotax lithium battery costs...

I have learned my lesson and found that cheep batteries are not worth it.
They cant take the vibration.

Good luck when you get to line and it doesnt fire. Thats when you will buy a better one. Confused

the old addage is true-- you get what you pay for...you're right Jeff, they'll go in the most inopportune time---during a race, or in my case, the furthest most point from the pits on the track...and dad (thats me) gets to push it back to the pits...my back still hurts from last weekend! I've had the Yuasa suggested to me as an alternative to the lithium batteries...I'll call some of the battery houses around town and see who carries that brand...worst part is little junior is all fired up to cut some laps and his battery takes a crap on him and it's game over for the day....hate seeing that happen to him...need to spend the extra $ just to avoid that scenario,,

Andy, I would check this battery out from Fastech Racing. They have a few different types of batteries at a fair price also.
