| I agree that the original turn 11 is very dangerous for motorcycles and karts. Motorcycles now use a turn 11 that is ~15 yards from the original. I think the WTCC used this turn 11 last weekend. This alternative is MUCH safer than the original. We are NOT surrounded with protection and held in place with belts and should join the motorcycles and WTCC for safety. My $0.02 worth... |

Interesting...
I once suggested, as a board member, the we consider using the modified T-11 in case of a RAIN race.
Let's say that wasn't really well accepted by most of those who are currently in charge.
Good luck.
Jim, I'm waiting for the inevitable PM. |

Is there a track map that shows this mod. to turn 11?? This turn is reason I installed front brakes on my Rotax Kart. Found it

This won't open here for me, anyway looks like it would be a nice change? |

Come on guys turn 11 is as safe in a kart as 100's of corners around the world. We approach it at 120 mph max and most at 100. We have plenty of scrub off area, we are not carrying Indy car speed !!
Turn 10 at well over 100mph fully commited behind the control towner is more dangerous because with an error you can hit the concrete wall flat out.
Turn 12 inside line touching wheels with a friend would throw a kart straight in to another concrete wall !!
Looking forward to seeing you all in 8 weeks and hopefully under braking in to turn 11 proper _________________ DEAN MARTIN |

I met one gent several years ago that crashed at turn 11 when he lost his brakes and was hurt, but not bad enough to go to hospital.
I've been told that at least one other person has been hurt badly against the turn 11 wall.
I'll race either way, but I don't think we're doing our best to keep racing safe as possible. |

Personally, I think that it would be fun to drive the Indycar layout--with the chicane. Put some skill into it. _________________ A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. -- Winston Churchill. |

Johnny B youre actually going to show up and race! I just entered the race myself and noticed your name already there - so it must be true!
Now that you are cominmg out to play don't put the kybosh on turn 11 mate - we love turn 11 I think your experience with your emick is clouding your vision - I remember looking at the brakes on emicks and often thought they looked iffy
I am sure the brakes on your current kart are in perfect working order!
My vote is for turn 11.

I don't cook, just pour booze and operate the blender! My vote is for the current turn 11 also. _________________ Play now, work later! |

No, It's the thought of laying in a pile of tires again thats clouding my vision! But I'll be happy to run what ever layout everyone wants, and I won't say another word . Kerry , the last time I was in your place the person serving the booze was alot more attractive then you! |

You just weren't drunk enough!
And I only pour booze and operate the blender in the doghouse on racing field trips. Otherwise, it's too much like work, and work is bad, mmmmkay?
I have mixed feelings about turn 11. Yes, that end of the track IS surrounded by concrete walls, but it's also one of the most fun sections of the track with that being one of the better passing zones, so I just pucker up when I go in there... _________________ Play now, work later! |

| Been puckering for years and will do it again if we use the original turn 11. Tires and concrete are so '60's... |
