Shannon,
Next time, read Craig's post SLOWLY. He asked for a STARTING POINT for a gear ratio. You gave him the EXACT!!!!
Craig,
I apologize for these KART people. They have been trained to give the TRUTH. Adding or removing 2 teeth from the above would be your test to see which 3 works best.
People have asked what lap times are for HPT. You can go to Mylaps and look at the past couple of years BUT, remember we have ran in late June till now. Temp will be totally different.
PISTON PORT racers: In case you are not aware, this class is different then other organizations. Below are the rules. Main thing is that all P.P. motors EXCEPT the Yamaha, have to run the HPV 4 or 5 pipe. Need one, let me know.
P.P.: 410#, HPV 4 or 5 pipe, no tapered header, 10" minimum flex length.
Yamaha: 385#, Any 1 3/4" fixed pipe.

Here are some questions asked:
1) Do I need to be a K.A.R.T. member to race?? YES. Memberships will be available at the track ($45.00). If you join at HPT, your membership is good through December 2013.
2) Fuel available at HPT?? YES. They have 3 race gases available but one is ILLEGAL. I will be testing them when we get there and lock the one illegal and announce it. Pay at the pump with credit card. If you run PUMP gas, bring your own as I don't know any stations in that area that have NON-ETHANOL gas.
3) What is this Saturday night thing people are talking about?? FUN TIME for EVERYONE!! A) BBQ & beverages (sponsored by MARRS), B) Award ceremony for the Friday & Saturday classes. C) LIVE entertainment. D) BENCH RACING!!
4) What fuel teck does KART use for the gas/oil classes?? A) Digatron meter with Cyclohexane. Meter set at -75. Must be on negative side of 0 to be legal. B) We also use a 3 part test, paper test and have a lab available if needed. Animal Sportsman has to run a SPEC fuel provided by KART.
5) Can we get in/out after gates close at night?? YES. Must have pit pass to get back in.
6) Will there be parts available for sale. YES. Between several racers who have parts and having shops like HE & Russells there, parts should be available. Need something, look me up and I will point you in the right direction.
7) Are pit bikes, scooters, etc. allowed?? YES. MUST be 16, moving SLOW and in pit area only.
How is line up determined?? By DRAW (excluding Superkarts). When you enter, you will draw a pill. LOW number starts first. You must be entered by noon each day to draw. If not, then you start where you sign up.
9) Will beacons be put out?? YES. We put 2 out, both left & right hand sides. Normally put these on the backside as we cross-over the tunnel.
10) Are transponders available to rent?? YES. $10.00 for the weekend. We have brackets available to sell if needed ($10.00 and you keep them). Just be sure to turn the transponder in before heading home, you don't want me to call you!!!
11) #1 question asked: Will "THE MAN" be signing autographs?????? YES. Large donations accepted!!!!
Anymore questions, ask.

5 karts ready to load (Sunday) !!!
With calls, PM & e-mails that I have been getting over the past few weeks, this should be a AWESOME event. People from all over are coming.
Not to brag but, who wouldn't want to come to the midwest?? Here you will find some of the toughest competition in road racing. You beat these guys/gals, you are someone (not "THE MAN") but SOMEONE!! |

Looks like I'm making hotel reservations now. Damn! Wont say any more about forecast. Check link above for best guess.
Thermostat installed, sweats included on packing list, and larger main jets ready. Should be easier on tires now tho. |
