|
|
Sooooo.....
I get the gist that 130/210 is the most common standard size wheels being used for go karting in the dry.
I have searched the forums for any info on wheel sizes etc but didn't find anything so thought I would just ask.
What do the different sizes do?
Let's say 132/214?
Magnesium vs alloy?
Or any other size info tips and tricks any wants to add would be appreciated and would help myself and others.
Thanks. |

you can do a search...its been hashed out before..
but in my experience...i use the stock magnesium wheels all the time on my crg.
i have used aluminum spun wheels and they seem to free up the kart more....less griip with them.
example...i could have a small hop in the corner with the mag wheels ...and with the aluminum spun wheels the hop goes away.
the cast aluminum wheels are less expensive and i have a set of those for rain tires.
other than that you are not going to get much response...because it is one of those things that you would have to spend $$ on to test and see the difference.
i dont think it is worth having different style wheels...i benefit more from having 2 or more sets identical so i can rotate...race vs practice tires at the track.
just my opinion |

Hey,
Yea I have seen the post on here and other sites in regards to Mgnesium vs Alloy etc.
What about size's?
Why would somone run a 214 over a 210 or a 132 over a 130 etc etc?
Thanks. |

because some tires are more square than others...like the older MGs were very square compared to the BS that were very rounded...so the rim can make the contact patch wider or more narrow.
just my opinion |
