Does anyone know the type of oil and ratio for the Easy Kart IAME TAG 60?? Book says 16: 1 but only refrences ordinary 2 cycle oils. I'm wondering it it would be the same ratio with a synthetic.

Thanks

Brian

The more oil you can use without fouling the spark plug the faster you will go. 16:1 is a good ratio for almost all kart engines. Don't get your oil from walmart, I suggest using Red Line Two Stroke Kart Oil but any high quality RACING oil will work.

Why would you think more oil makes you faster? Rotax is 50:1 synthetic aperantly these are 16:1 castor.

So, a model airplane engine uses 4:1 castor (the thick castor right out of the bean) and turns 40,000 rpm on a full wave pipe.

Rotax uses 50:1 synthetic because, it goes 50-60 hours between overhauls and they don't want carbon build up, not because it's faster.

This subject has been covered before, try the link.

I'm not suggesting more or less oil makes you faster because I don't know. I'm asking you why you believe more oil increases power? Whats going on to increase power? The link doesn't explain it either.

More oil makes more compression and to quote Al, "Compression is the Holy Grail" Cool

Thanks guys sounds logical. I'm going 16:1 Burris castor. That seems to be what most are using in these engines.
