Three of us live in Northern NY and thinking of driving 8 or 9 hours down there for a couple days of practice the first week of Oct. so we can get some seat time in. Would prefer to go to F1 outdoors but not open for practice. We are going to NJMP the end of OCT. so looking for something different. My questions is is it worth the drive? Would we be better off going somewhere else? Not sure if there is anything else. Thanks

Njmp is my home track, I put Beaver Run on the same playing field as NJMP. I would say it's worth the trip. NJMP rarely lets you practice full track, because rentals run on half. Both times Ive been to Beaver Run I ran the full track and took a break several times because rentals were coming on the track. I dont remember if they make you leave the track for the rentals. A little further drive is NCMP, been on there with rentals. NCMP is my favorite, I grew up about an hour from New Castle. The other two are a tie for me.

They won't let you on at the same time as the rentals. Dan Schlosser will probably be on here soon. He would be the one to talk to.

http://pittracekarting.com/karting_schedule.html

October looks wide open on practice from 12-7 most days. As long as it says "practice" or "rentals/practice" you're fine. Full track.

Only down time is if/when they have some rentals waiting to go out and if Kid Karts are there (they obviously are out there by themselves). But for the most part its enough to take a break, make some adjustments and head back out

$25/driver until you give up for the day.

The breaks are nice because it gives you time to make adjustments.

The track itself is great. Nice elevation changes and a combination of quick, sharp turns and long fast sweepers. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds great, thanks for the replies. How about some advise on where to stay? Looking for something clean, safe and nice. Good food and drink also. If you have any ideas that would be great. Gonna be there late afternoon on Wed. Oct. 3rd and then Thurs. and Fri.. Really looking forward to it. How about gearing, we are all running ICC's? Thanks

There are a few hotels nearby...most natably Holiday Inn

(http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/us/en/beaver-falls/beapa/hoteldetail?sicreative=9656711713&sicontent=0&sitrackingid=45970255&cm_mmc=Google-PS-HolidayInn-_-G+B-AMER-%255BUSA%255D-East-_-%255BUSA%255D-%2528PA%2529-Beaver%252BFalls-BEAPA-_-holiday+inn+beaver+falls+pa&siclientid=1952)

There is also a Super 8 right down the road from Holiday Inn.

There are a few others but they are smaller locally owned.

These are all less that about 2 miles from the track.

Then there is my house about 10 minutes away!!! And DeMellos is not much further than that Laughing

Gear for around 78-80mph top speed. Track record is a high 53 in an ICC. Track normally runs clockwise, but if there is nobody else there, throw down a few laps counter clockwise. Different and cool. Let us know or PM me when you are heading down. Between myself and my buddies, I can maybe scrape together a few more of us shifties so we can all have some fun.

Everything is looking good for Friday. Should be a good turnout of shifters. Anyone else interested, come on out. Noon til dusk open practice for I believe only $25. Track should be pretty open as the kids are still in school.
