Is there a easy way to tell the difference between the TX and VX engines? Thanks

I believe the designation is stamped on the jug or at the top of the reed cage. If you have both of the engines in front of you measure the stroke by marking a pencil. Longer stroke (54mm ish) is a TX.

Parts are impossible to find. What you have there is a $3000 paper weight! Embarassed Shocked

Unless you purchased that engine with a boat load of parts. It will be hard to keep running.

Plus the VX is used for Road/Enduro racing not sprint. Hope you planned on road racing.

My opinion if you havent purchased...run away...far away!!!

Externally they look prettymuch the same. I believe the TX has T stamped above the reed cage. I meant to check mine but didnt get a chance.

If you are running with a TX (125cc model) for fun you can use leopard pistons & seals, main bearings are probably the same as well.

Yes the TX had a T stamped above the reed cage.

But I'm like Jeff...run from the engine. I have a feeling after this year it won't be legal in WKA.

Parts ARE NOT impossible to find at all. The Sonik pistons, rods, seals, and bearings are the exact same as a leopard. They always have been, even when the sonik first came out. The VX is a badass motor too. If you can find one, they are super quick on a sprint track. They pull off the corner much harder then a leopard and loost a tiny bit on top end.

The TX is just badass in every way. If you get them to run right they are pretty quick.

Also yes the VX has a V stamped on the inside case half right above the reed cage, whereas the TX has a T

The POS engine clutch are no longer available from what I've heard. That had to be the worst clutch design ever, the Engineer of that one should have been hung from a tall tree. If anyone finds a source for them, please post it up for us. TS Racing no longer has any. The exploding "Sonik Boom" clutch days may be finally over.
