Hi Guys,
I have been talking to the folks at KART. They have a race the first week of October. 5-6-7.
I asked them if the guys got together could we run as we did last time we ran with the KART group. All the details are not set. Who of you would support this event. Keep in mind. I am a racer. Just want to get the group together if possible.
I am asking 250 twins GAS-GAS and CR250/450 4 stroke Superkarter.
So far:
Bobby Butler twin
Roy Estfine AKA Racer Roy Twin
Doug Newhouse Twin
Darryl Bertrum Twin
Scotty Fiesler Gas Gas
Scott Lowienstine Gas Gas
Firous GAS GAS
Jayce GAS GAS
Joey West CR250
Taylor Bertrum CR250
Jim Brannon AKA Santa CR250
I have called others they are checking for time off thier jobs ect... I will update as I find out more.

Johnny....you did not list your DEA (D ead E ngine A gain)....surely you'll attend as well as a lot others. I'll try to bring 2 twins....I've finally convinced my brother to make some laps with the Anderson Mirage recently obtained from Riley with the PVP back up Engine from Ian! Should be a great event!
Mark M, I know your watching, the Laguana race may lose a couple of guys to the Topeka race and I personally wish you all a good race but I couldn't seem to find a way to make it happen. It's always been on the bucket list but will not happen for me this year. You're doing a great job and should be a big time event. The world will be watching! _________________ Bobby Butler......."GO BOY GO" RACING, HOUMA, LOUISIANA

Glad to hear that a large turnout from the USSK racers is planning on attending HPT in October.
To answer some questions asked:
1) K.A.R.T. is the sanctioning body.
2) This is the K.A.R.T. Road race nationals. ALL classes (including the 3 USSK classes) will be running for the TRIAD).
3) USSK will run under there rules.
4) Fees: The one fee ($350.00) charged to the USSK drivers will include Friday practice, qualifier, pre-final/Final races, KART membership. Of course you want to attend the Saturday nite meal which is free.
5) Jim Edgington, Maysha Denny & myself are the contacts for this event. Jim will be the main race director.
6) There will be tech
7) IF, we have any questions or concerns with rules, etc of USSK we cannot answer ourselves, we will contact Johnny West who is the USSK spokesperson for this event for his input. Final decision will be made by the K.A.R.T. officials.
Entry form and event schedule will be posted on the KART web site by this weekend (www.kart.org). I will also be sending it to Johnny so he can e-mail it out to the USSK drivers.
MOST IMPORTANT: K.A.R.T. is happy that USSK is coming back to race at one of the premier tracks that they did a couple of years ago and enjoyed. We just want everyone to come and enjoy a fantastic weekend with other racers from around the country. We are expecting the racing to be superb BUT, come to have fun!!!
Any questions, can contact me through PM, e-mail (donnaandkelly@hotmail.com) or 316-218-3645 (C).

Just to be clear, can any racer with a superkart equipped with a 250cc engine as described in the original post, race in the superkart portion/class of the KART N/C's if entered to do so?
If not, what other requirements are there? |
