I currently have a Bandit Y2K chassis that I am running with a LO206, sprint tracks only. I am a decent sized guy at 6' 210. I find the laid back driving position to be a little uncomfortable. I have driven karts with a upright seating position and find these to be a little more comfortable. My questions are;
1. Is this pretty typical, i.e., do most "larger" drivers find upright seating to be better?
2. What are some good upright seating chassis options (preferably used) to be paired with a LO206?

Roger,I'm a big guy too, 6'1",195,long torso.My only experience with lay down seats are in dirt speedway karts. Never had an issue. In IKF territory ( west coast ) most sprint karts are CIK type with sit-up seats.I have a friend that is a bit bigger than me and he uses a lay down type seat on his CIK type kart. He likes it. I do recline my seat quite a bit for a "sit up" type seat and this set up works very well for me. I run World Formula and 206 , I've seen all types of chassis work. The lower horsepower classes are pretty much demanding that you maintain momentum and be smooth. If the handling basics can be made correct pretty much any chassis will work.

We run JET Karting, at Michiana Raceway Park in South Bend IN. Not too far from you in Chicago.
Our 206 class requires the upright seating like the Manufacturer's Cup uses, and not the Gold Cup style laydown seats. We find the Birel R30cy to be excellent for the class.

The opinions above are great, but what you really need to do is find out the rules where you are going to race. Check with the tracks and organizations before heading out !
