Hi Larry - I was going to take my lap-top with me to Snetterton but I realized we only had one adaptor to fit the electrical outlets here in the UK, so I left that with Georgia - and I aslo figured there would not be any wi-fi available there - so 2 reasons not to take the lap top - turned out that Russell's American made RV had American electrical outlets and there was free Wi-Fi at the track afterall!! Of course had I taken my lap top I could have seen your posting on ekarting and given some feed back along with a bunch of photos I took during the weekend!
So now that I am back from the race the only thing I can suggest Larry is for you to contact Poul Peterson and have him ship the parts to me here in the UK and I will bring them back with me in my luggage!? Send me an email!
Ted - got my top secret carbs from Ian - so make sure you tell Dean - and Dean, the English accent is doing ok - no verbal communication errors or sign language problems I have not tried typing in the rain but I can try that at any time of the day and any day as it has rained the whole time we have been here and it going to continue to do so for the next 10 days!! |

Only country in the world where you are known by your umbrella!
> and there was free Wi-Fi at the track after all!!
AW, what rock have you been hiding under?
This is the second (maybe third) year that the FIA/CIK
has been Wi-Fi-ing live lap-by-lap results from the tracks
so they have to be 'hooked up'.....
(j/k...if I were going to be at Snetterton last weekend,
just thinking about seeing a bunch of friends, meeting new
ones and being at Snetterton, I wouldn't have even taken
one!!
Where are the pics/video!!!???.....we are eagerly awaiting!! |

Hi James
Not sure yet, Jim. Didn't have the will to open it up there and then, just loaded into the truck and shipped out for later investigation.
There seemed to be a lot of attrition in the GP itself, which is a shame with only 20 finishers from a field of 38.
The last race of 3 days of hard testing and racing and perhaps because really in the Grand Prix you either win or loose, so a few risks taken. 2nd place is just the first looser . . . . no Championship positions to protect.
A great track, but with extremes of slow and high speed. You can hear Ben clutching it out of the very tight turn 2.
Our own James O'Reilly never made the start with a failed axle bearing on the warm-up lap and Trevor (Kart 11 on the video) went out with a very light piston seize which was a result of a risky jetting strategy. However, it has to be said that he was struggling with understeer problems anyway, after a change of nosecone for the race.
Our best finisher was Ben's brother, Toby in 4th place after he had an early "coming together" with Paul Platt at turn 1, that you can also see in the video.
You can see the track shape on the TSL timing page.
Best Regards
