Jeff, I cleaned the barrel for Ted twice at Topeka, my charge was 2 beers an hour but I think JR was paying Ted 4 beers an hour.
Scotty brought along his own beers for a chat and Ted got him working for free.
That is beer economy explained with Ted at the race track. If shite don't break he has to buy his own beer. _________________ www.samzavaglia.com |

Racers,
Please note the following changes to the upcoming event schedule for Barber Motorsports Park:
Thursday
Pit Passes Open at 3pm-8pm
Registration from 5pm-8pm
Track Closes at 9pm (Camping is available)
Friday
There will be up to a 1 hour break to ensure track personnel can eat / use facilities / stay hydrated.
Sunday
Registration hours from 8am-1pm (changed from ending at 4pm).
Also: There will be a misting tent in the paddock to ensure you can stay cool, as well as the Race Control Tower will be open so people can stay cool in the AC and watch the race.
Racers crew and spectators: Please take advantage of these and be sure to drink lots of water and Gatorade to stay hydrated. _________________ R3 --- (Robby Harper III)

Will this race be a standing start from the pits or on the track or rolling start?
I have never raced there before but the pit exit looked narrow.
Thanks,
Mike |

I am running stock Honda 1 which is supposed to start with the unlimited's and Superkarts. Will the other races be rolling start or standing and if standing from the pits or track? My son is in the 1st race so would like to know about it too.
What's the best technique for a rolling start? Pick a gear that is near the rev. limit that matches pace speed or what? The rolling start I was in was on a sprint track in a 4 hole can yamaha!
Thanks,
Mike |

Mike,
The way I remember Harper's doing it in the past at Barbers was the Superkarts do a rolling start (as previously stated) while the rest of the classes start traditionally from pit lane. The 1 minute flag goes up while the Super karts are on their pace lap and drops once the Super Karts are safely by the pit exit.
The pit lane does narrow up, but it is not as narrow as say Rd. Atlanta and has not been a problem in the past , now the track exit to pit lane is a different story. The first time you exit the track go SLOW until you understand the lay of the land.
See you at Barbers! |
