|
|
This past weekend I have seen a few driver's hopping in their seat while on the straight-away. It looked dangerous as the kart is moving at top speed.
I can understand the adjustment coming out from a turn and the binding of the rear axle and tire's....
But why on the straight-away? What advantage does this give? _________________ Jacob Hansen (Driver) --Kid Kart #89

It was a Rotax race, any rhyme or reason for the hopping on the straight-away? _________________ Jacob Hansen (Driver) --Kid Kart #89

| same reason. it Un binds the kart, you will see it mostly at the end of the straight away to when people are heading to the turn |

I am not trying to sharp shoot, I am just trying to figure out the reason. As I am only a Kid Kart Dad and my son is a year or two away from going into MicroMax or Jr 1 Karts.
Looking at that....It would be like running the kart on the stand, free up max RPM. But once the driver comes down from the hop, he would be dropping the RPM with the return of the weight.
Or am I off in my thinking....?
I’m thinking that a fly in a car going 60 mph while flying in the car is not flying at 60 mph, as it is contained by its environment and flying at it's known max speed. _________________ Jacob Hansen (Driver) --Kid Kart #89

this is happening only in MiniMax because effect is drastic. Who would not want up to 1500 more RPM? |

Loved your quote!
Now it makes sense to me "Power Band" changing how the coil works. _________________ Jacob Hansen (Driver) --Kid Kart #89

I didn't look at the links that may have been an attempt to prove it, but haven't you ever lifted your lawn mower blade for a moment in the tall grass? _________________ Rodney Ebersole |
