And I should add: "and what sort of display issues are you having, and did it start with the new design?"

Thanks!

Glenn

Glenn, that was a very cool banner though. At cable modem speeds, it took another 2 secs, so your server is definitly handling the load.

Looks fine in I.E. 4.5 on Mac 9.04. Must be a Netscape thing.

It all posts fine this morning.

I am using Netscape 4.7, But I am downloading
6.0. I will let you know how it works.
Everythink was working fine before the change. Now I am about to go crazy trying to
look at it.
When I select a topic, it starts to load fine for a sec. then goes all crazy. black boxes over text

Glenn, Jeff, I run a PC, normally with IE 5.0. IE 5.0 is just fine with EKN. I also have Netscape 4.7 which I decided to try with the site.
With Netscape 4.7, yep, Dennis was correct in saying "When I select a topic, it starts to load fine for a sec. then goes all crazy. black boxes over text".
Your Gateway page and Home pages are fine in both IE and Netscape. By the time I hit the forums, your tables have lost their form.
All 10 forums are screwed up on Netscape, and the topics get messed up too. It's a Netscape tables rendering problem, I would venture to say.
Also, in Netscape (thruout this reply, I am only referring to 4.7) the large grey background has an almost wallpaper texture and the text is very rough and hard to decipher; it's also hard to see the orangish-brown text against this grey (The grey in IE is fine, along with the text). Oh, the text in 4.7, though, is fine when it is against a white box background
Needless to say, I don't have much love for Netscape as I had similar problems at first with my tables in my site.

Glenn, Jeff,
PS. It's always a good idea to have a copy of at least the most common Netscape browser so that you/your webmaster can see the rendering in both IE and Netscape before loading it up. If you aren't on AOL and don't have a Mac, it's also nice to have friends who have these so you can also run your site with those also.

I too am using Netscape 4.7 and it all screwy. I have Netscape 6.0, but do not like it, and will not use it because of some of the issues they still have with it. Change it back, make the headache go away!!! hehe

Tom

Tom,

That's a good point. I have an ancient copy of Netscape (4.04) on my machine, which I fired up this morning after reading about some folks' troubles. Sure enough, the forums looked terrible; we should have checked that last night before making the changes.

I have been in touch with Glenn throughout the day in regards to this issue, and if we can't find a fix by this evening, then it will be my preference to switch it back to the previous format until we find the solution.

Thanks for your help,

Jeff

Jeff, I didn't think I had a copy of Netscape when I was doing my site but in checking though all the software I had, I found a copy of IE and 4.7 on one of the software CD's a mutual fund company had sent to me. You might find a newer version lurking
