YES. Were you around in the mailing list days? It was annonymous and guys were getting kicked out all the time. The forums have required real names and I can only remember one person getting booted.

We all know how easy it is get an e-mail address. This will be hard to control. But what about a type of resume or brief paragraph on your skills, job, ect.
Maybe with in the profiles section of the deal.

Glenn, Jeff, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I've liked your site before, this makes it even better! Definitely YES on having everyone use real names, especially since you won't be staying up all hours of the night reading through every message. Real names, I feel, keep people more honest...they can't hide their comments behind their made-up name. Real names in themselves won't stop bad behavior, but I bet it will really help. Those who scream for being able to use any name they want may have something to hide.
Anyway, they can always use ANY name to sign the message, so that makes for the best of both worlds.

I'd vote for using real names. I also like the idea of a "credentials" page so we know a little about the person posting.

Please stick with real names as far as possible, UK Karting has been wrecked by idiots who don't have the courage to put their names to their various death threats and speculation about other posters sexuality. The credentials idea sounds good to me.

Definitely, definitely use real names. I hate to be a "me too" but aliases just lead to spam. Maybe something needs to be added to the registration page to encourage, assist, educate, people that this board will accept a regular name with spaces and stuff as your user name. Certainly less brain-strain for me.

Glenn, When registering for TKWS it gave you a password in your e-mail. Maybe some verification could happen there.

I'm not sure that there's a technical way to do this. Certainly people snuck in to TKW using false IDs. It's probably simplest to just have the mods keep an eye out for suspicious or obvious fakes then give them the boot.

Real names are the only way to go. Helps to keep people from signing up under some strange name and spouting off things that are not "appropriate"
