The Prelude to the Dream is this Wednesday night - June 6 starting at 5pm Pacific.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Prelude, it's basically an all-star dirt race put on my Tony Stewart at his track (Eldora) for charity. Although most of the drivers are NASCAR regulars, there are also some WOO dirt drivers, open wheel, even drag racers thrown in the mix.
It's pretty entertaining - the whole mix of drivers, some with dirt experience but many without, and how quickly they can learn and adjust to a 2300 lb, 850 hp late model dirt car. Danica haters can lick their chops, she's throwing her hat in the ring this year as well. Here is the list of drivers:

It's available on PPV ($34.95 in high def, $24.95 in standard def, at least on DirecTV) which is a little pricey, but the proceeds go to charity (this year is Feed the Children).

While I understand most of this field has a shot at winning this thing, it's hard to not give the edge to Kinser and Schatz. Granted neither of them have alot of time in Dirt Late Models where just about everyone else has a bit more tiem in that style car, but they're both AWESOME on dirt. I mean all you have to do is look at Kinser's numbers in WoO, 572 A Main feature wins and 20 championships. 'Nuff said _________________ Git-R-Done! |

Lucky for us in Australia, we got the Speed channel feed of this event.
I dont often get to see the late model dirt races, but this was a treat.
dispite the mix of drivers, there was some "stylish" driving displayed with multiple "slide job" passes and close "professional" racing.
Excellent entertainment and a really good cause.
Danica seemed to have a hard time disguising her lack of excitement.
..but i doubt many of us would be comfortable out there with 850 bhp to control on dirt ! _________________ Chad

She has the same problem in NASCAR! Like they say, "she just needs more seat time".
A good friend of the Burris family is drag racer Cruz Pedregon and he did the drive of the night from 15th to 2nd but couldn't close the deal but he showed how versatile he was. BTW, he started racing in karts in So Cal way back when.
DW's ride with Tony Stewart was a hoot! Great show all the way around and well worth the $25.
