Since you brought it up, what do YOU do?
I'm a Costume Designer, and I help my husband at his Marine Engine Business. If I am feeling like I need to be fancy smancy,my occupation is Magazine Editor, but since I don't get a paycheck for Karter News, that one doesn't really count, sounds kinda impressive though |

Deborah, my wife and I built and operated a bed & breakfast for 5 years+...we sold it in December, now I can play with karting and also have a website evaluation service, webfixr.com, on the web with a friend and I also have kartfinder.com. I like messing around on the Internet and STILL don't have my kart.
Drew, it's funny you posted as I had always pictured you as being older by your communication skills! On a the other post re: Physical Conditioning you mentioned your age and I had to go to your site (great info!) to check it out. My preconceived notions can be fun especially when I find out that I was wrong...I'm usually willing to change them, makes learning new things fun. Anyway, it was your post and your site that made me ask this topic's question, I wish our profiles had what we do on them, as on TKWS.

Deborah, if I can't get "Occupation" onto Profiles, at least you had a good idea re: finding out here what everyone does

Deborah,
So does that mean that if I want to sound "fancy smancy", I can say I'm a Contributing Magazine Writer????
How about a Prolific Semi-Professional Website Forum Contributor???

Sure you can stephen!
LOL as for the Marilyn thing, I sure do wish someone had told me my hair had gotten so messed up after those refreshing beverages the Power Source Racing guys FORCED me to consume! Then again, I have been told that NOT ONE of the guys even noticed my hair 'do!
They must have been looking at my first place trophy for the region instead!
Tom I always thought having a bed and breakfast would be a cool gig... was it? |

Deborah, well.....if you want to DO THE TIME... I had fun being the owner-builder and my wife loved the decorating. Most of the people were very nice. I enjoyed the first 4 years and then I finally realized there was more to life than being a work-a-holic.
If you love people and don't mind being at the Inn pretty much 24 hours a day, especially on the weekends (but what about karting???), then it's a fantastic job. Our area where we live is like living in paradise so our setting was beautiful. For me it was a great experience; we're both very happy it's behind us.

I really miss being able to check out someone's profile to see what they do. I realize it is up to each person as to whether they want to enter this info or not. Anyway to add "Occupation" to the Profiles?
It's fun to get to know the people here.

I help my girlfirend (who I met in college) run her large CNC machine/job shop, ARC Technologies in San Marcos, CA. 32000 sqf with 11 CNC lathes, 2 EDM's, 13 CNC Mills, 5 Swiss screw Machines, 3 conventionals mills and two conventional lathes and our QC has 2 CMM's. 80 people, three shifts. She does production, her husband does sales and I do anything and everything involving money, personnel and shipments. Deb K. |

That was great for a laugh. I was like girlfriend ---husband. What the heck. Then came to the Deb K at the end. I was like we have live Soap Opera action on the forums.
Sounds like a big place Deb. |

Yup, it's big and VERY fast paced. And not "that" kind of girl friend. She's a friend! And the place is definitely a soap opera showing daily! |
