Christian is correct, it is well over half full already, with a cap of 230 entries.

If you have never run there, Toledo is the newest, smoothest concrete you will have the joy to run on. Great for karts, with plenty of room for decent courses.

As I type, there are 11 entries in KM. Let's get to 16, eh?

Son on the beach - completely missed it and now we're both on the waitlist.

Hmmm...

You sure you selected Toledo?

@ 10:40 EDT I see only 209 entries... There still should be room?

(13 in KM... Very Happy )

EDIT:

OK, I see what you mean. Motorsports Reg. is now putting entries onto a waitlist, they must have been required to stop 20 short of the cap, leaving room for FAXed or mailed entries, etc. I found out by attempting to register son Colin as a co-driver with Christian (shhhh - he does not know yet Shocked Laughing ) We'll see how many more get in. Hope the Boitos make it!

About 50 people on wait list and Kieran and I are 29 and 30. I'm bummed and thinking about planning a vacation somewhere along the ocean instead. Will certainly save on fuel costs ($400 for the trip to and from Toledo).

I guess that registration madness shows the value of Toledo's concrete for the eastern half of the country... Man I wish we could get into Willow Grove.

Not exactly. People weren't willing to drive to Oscoda last year, and that's concrete. Sure its a few hours north from Toledo. But do people really put a huge value that little bit of extra driving? It wasn't even close to the entry cap last year.

I think Oscoda is even more representative of Lincoln's concrete than Toledo's might be. I run Oscoda every chance I get (3 times in 2011), and its nearly 3 hours drive for me.

Toledo is nice, but I think its getting more hype these days than anything else.

I agree, Lefty. Toledo is pretty hyped. But yeah, I did put a value on the extra drive distance to Oscoda - and the lack of anything else for the wife and kids to do in the area (versus Toledo, at least), so I can't see making that trip as long as I'm still married... Surprised

Lack of things to do in Oscoda? Have you been there before? Its a great little town right on Lake Huron. Very nice beach, lots of small shops, and sometimes there is an art/novelty show near the beach. My wife and daughter like coming along for a weekend, when I let them. Smile

Actually, Oscoda is AWESOME, but yes, it's still a 3-4hrs further and that is a big deal for people traveling when it could possibly add an extra day depending on when you leave from work, etc.

Based on my driving in Toledo two Sundays ago, and Blytheville over the weekend, it looks more like you'll be beating two Sheidlers. Laughing I just checked the registration for the Toledo Pro, and Colin is in! That means 14 in KM so far, maybe more, if others get picked up when others drop?

If anyone is wanting to run at Toledo Express the end of July, and you are not already on the wait list, my advice to you is to GET ON IT! Things are changing at the site, and it may mean more room for entries. This is always a premiere event, and the concrete is some of the best you'll ever get to run on.

Awesome, I'll get the kart dialed in and the water leak fixed, which will likely involve splitting the cases. Sad

Get it fixed and bring it to Oscoda on the 6th for the TnT. We'll get you dialed in before the Pro.

For anyone else who wants a long drive, Oscoda has a 3 day event July 6-8. TnT Friday and (probably) 3 courses in 2 days on Sat/Sun. Lots of seat time on a great site up in Oscoda.

But it is a long drive from anywhere...

Nah. Blytheville. That is one long drive, especially on the way home, and particularly if you start off in a severe thunderstorm, and then get parked on interstate 55 for 90 minutes.... We gave up and sacked out when we got to the Michigan welcome center on I-69.

But... for a Pro and a Tour... Worth the drive!
