I was making lead pucks last night and had the kart and son on the scales, am wondering what weight distribution is reccomended for JA, had 47% front 53 rear and 4-5 # more on f&r r/h side.
Boy 305 is a lot of lead when you have a 94# kid.
Any advice is apreciated |

Harrold you are lucky to have a kid @ 94 lbs. Scott and I still have kids that haven't broke 60 pounds yet.
Michael just reached 57lbs the other day and is now back to 55 again. hanging out at the sprint tracks waiting for a huge growth spurt. But we finally got rid of the pedal extensions on the cadet kart _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |

It's sad that not having a kid that's overweight is a PROBLEM... Believe me, I'd change the entire karting landscape if I could. Average size kids have to throw a crap load of lead on a kart...average sized...

Carson is in JA now.
I'll work it backwards because I didn't weigh him. We just started building his kart a few days ago.
Kart with KT100 (1/3 tank)- 150lbs (confirmed)
Lead added - 72lbs (confirmed)
Carson with gear - 87lbs (this was "X" )
Total - 309lbs (confirmed)
We went to 309 so that we could run the kart out of fuel if necessary.

You should post a picture of where all that lead is. you know like "school us" on how to do it right.

You mean: how to make swiss cheese out of your seat?
Haven't finished mounting, but will take a pic when I'm done. Really not that hard, but as I've said in the past, I don't use pucks or dive weights (except one here or there) because they don't make good use of space. All my stuff was bought in bulk, very dense, and melted to easily mounted shapes of squares, rectangles and triangles (3, 10, 1.5lbs respectively)

Oh yea I would be VERY interested to see that.
I guess when you get to the point of adding amount of another driver to a kart you have to get pretty creative. _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |

I was thinking that making Evan's kart a 3 seater would solve all my problems.....until I realized that even with his 2 brothers sitting on the kart, I would still need to add 10 pounds of lead.
That's right, all 3 of my kids combined won't meet minimum weight in JB! |

Yea that is probably not far from the truth.
8 yr olds can be pretty little. bet with three kids you would never have a DNF. _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |
