Run most of my autox with car clubs on tight courses. Have put together a stock Honda with power valves still in and a 5 speed. Should I still start at 15/27 gearing? Also, since I am generally the only kart-they all talk like they would want to try it-I am thinking of trying some six inch wheels and tires. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much for any help. |

lots of questions. Short tight = 15/27 I agree
Keep the motor at full boil is tough but fast. Power valve is supposed to be more forgiving My ICC has no such thing so I have to keep it wound tight.
I have replied to the "Man I'd like to try that" comments with Yea that's not going to work for me. But I have a JA kart with a big seat you can try.
5" just keep it simple. _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |

| 15/27 could be short but it all depends on the lot. The 5 speed is the same as the 6spd's 1-5 so losing that last ~8mph (estimating) where 6th would be could hurt. 15/26 is what I use the most now, which I think in 5th is about ~63mph. That might be a better starting point. |
