Notice the titanium spigot for the Det sensor on the power valve cover?! Details aboud with Aprilia!!!! How about the Ti fasteners?

OK, I can see them all now.
What a weird clutch lever arrangement!!!!!
Unfortunately the last picture reveals that it is a non-sideloader.
Be a fun project for you to restore. I'm sure it will give you hours of frustration and fun

Is this the porn your talking about Riley?
It's come some way from using that ZIP/Rotax on the farm yard. 
8 x 8mm studs to hold the head cover on.....stronger than a John Deere.

Yes, the RSA125 and the rarer RSA250. They changed both engines for the same thrust face of the piston along with a new power valve layout and of course the rear central disk valve inlet on the 125.

Hi Guys
This is a bit general and Sam pulled the trigger with his observation of the head studs on the Aprilia.
That looks a great improvement from Aprilia particularly in terms of long term reliability.
I have long been a critic of "1 race" marginal engineering, where GP teams (without stringent financial contraints) just replace parts that are only fit for the bin after a meeting or 2. No worries about making a season, the effects of stripping and replating cylinders, clutch longevity, marginal gearboxes failing, etc., etc.
OK, nothings that simple and there's a world of difference between a bike GP team/manufacturer and your average superkarter, but all too often we end up with secondhand, innapropriate technology and too often pay the price that eventually puts the individual out of the game and discourages others from even considering the journey.
Reliability with power is entirely possible (although I realise that re-engineering is not cheap).
For the manufacturer that grasps the nettle, there is a long term market out there, that is capable of sustainable growth.
Some may already be taking a longer term view and be embarking on that course. 
Just a bit of a rant!!

Yeah, the rear bolt pulled the thread clean out then the insert tilted up at the back and broke off the piece of cylinder.
From the piston it was running nice though

Still think you have to be nuts to drop that kind of $$ on a go-kart engine.
That Zip is almost exactly the same as one I have except mine has calipers on both sides of the rear. Still one of my best handling karts. I even prefer it to my newer upright front end karts.

After significant digging thru my archives I found my 86 or 87 ZipKart brochure. Below is a black and white copy of the cover that shows the original body work that came with the kart you now have. Donna Hupp ran this kart new in the Mid States series with this bodywork, minus the driver fairing.
