Don't recall how to spell Mr. Domes' first name. I think George Cardas had something to do with the kart as well.
Do you recall his B Open with four chambers joined at the pipe's mid-point? Before slippy pipes showed the way, he would shuttle a bypass device in the mid-point of the pipes, effectively shortening the tuned length between two defined lengths.
Saw the kart once at the Shelton, Washington airport track. The track was three miles long and flat out ~97% of the lap. Great for top speed tuning and breaking engines. |

I believe it was Daryl but I'm not a spellcheck nazi.
I remember the kart very well but don't remember the details on the pipes after this amount of time.
I do remember it being bought by Virgil Dinius from Indianapolis and it getting all bent up at a race at IRP.
Daryl Domes was the inspiration for the "Joe Karter" cartoon strip of days gone by. _________________ Greg Wright

He was a fun guy to be around he bought me a few beers before I turned 21. He quit karting for awhile and when I bought a dirt kart he wanted to race it also we were figuring it all out but he never got the chance to drive it. Miss him he was one of a kind. _________________ John Kuntze
