Looking for any info, paper work, set up sheets or anything on or about the Hegar "mystery" axle clutch from the late 70s early 80s.
Thanks,

I remember seeing them but can't remember the details. I do remember they had an external adjuster that you could alter slip while the kart was underway on the track.

The Hegar clutch could not be adjusted while you were moving. You could drag or push the shoes. Different weights could be used and the adjustment came from moving the weights on the pivit point. A spring went around the shoes to help pull the shoes away from the drum when lifting. I usually did not use it. It was a great clutch, I liked it better for the stock classes but it worked on open classes. The Bystrom clutch, the other brand of the time seemed to work and lock up better on the open engines for the average karter.

Hey Robby how's it going? Hope ur staying out of trouble! Lol

Dennis, the adjuster that was on their clutch was prototype that never went into production. Not sure but I think IKF didn't like it! Ha.
There was about 6 or so of Hegar gang that used to make the drive from Portland to LA and race with SCK on a regular basis.
