First of all, let me state that this is exactly why I got off the KAC. If you don't understand how this process works, you likely shouldn't comment on how it's being done wrong. The SEB is controlling this as much if not more than I felt they should, and there are many other variables...including LETTERS.

Second, there are NO slide restrictors available for the BWF, call Briggs and ask yourself (unless we're being lied to). This is why the KAC tried to make them in the past, and is trying to make them now.

The process has always been out in the open, and still is, write letters, not EKN posts.

Please understand, I probably have more than invested in the KT100 than many, and I don't feel this is a horrible idea (I don't think it's the best).

BTW, I'm guessing the weight would increase at least a little if it becomes spec.

Brian

I've been heavily recruited to join the KAC and resisted because I know nothing about the karting world today other than the journey down the rabbit hole of FJ.

My engine builder is a pretty top guy and he showed me the Briggs slide selection. I wouldn't have a clue what I was actually looking at, but that's what I was told they were (BWF slides).

I was also shown an LO206 sealed motor and given the sales pitch, from a guy who would lose business if it was adopted by more series. But he thought it was perfect for our slice of the world.

To me, FJ should be about introducing kids to autocross, not autocrossers to karting. Others may have different views.

Again I'd say the biggest priority is making the BWF work in JB. I'd like to see that happen, and see for sure that the slide is available and works as advertised to get to whatever performance goal is desired for 8-11yo's in our sport. Then when the option is proven viable, go to it. Years ago we went down the BWF route and the lack of a JB solution sent the train off the tracks.

Of course, I have other BWF concerns. As I get ready to look for spending money on that option, the options are looking a little scary. "blueprinting" a BWF is more costly and involved than the KT. But hopefully its more reliable and doesn't have the twist the knob til she blows feature if you want more power.
