This weekend is the eighth running of the RoboPong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS. Drivers will take on the 1-mile circuit for 200 laps on Sunday, all going for $6,000 in cash if they take the checkered flag.
EKN will be trackside Saturday and Sunday providing updates, daily reports, results and the photo grid Saturday evening. A complete preview will be published Friday morning.

I know that David is now on the road for this great event! After three straight event weekends myself, I'm taking a break this time around, but I'm thinking that Cole and I will need to run next year. I just want to wish all the drivers the best of luck this weekend.

SATURDAY WELCOME:
Good afternoon everyone. Today is the official start of the 2011 RoboPong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS. It's a chilly but sunny day in New Castle, Indiana as practice is underway at the 1-mile circuit. Temperatures have jumped into the 50s, but frost was here in the morning and will likely return tomorrow.
Teams are well into preparing for tomorrow's 200-lap race. Certainly, the mood is somewhat mixed with the absence of Dan Wheldon from the paddock.
Timed practice is about to begin, with each teams best time set to line them up for the qualifying order. Qualifying will begin at 3:30 with each kart getting 3 timed laps.

Sorry, the timed qualifying will run from 1pm to 3pm with Qualifying starting at 4pm.

SATURDAY PRACTICE UPDATE:
The weather is warming up and the times are dropping. Just one more hour until practice is complete and the qualifying order is set. Teams are searching for the fast lap, currently held by NOS Energy Drink of Jacob Knueven and Robbie Seward aboard their FA Kart/Leopard - 1:05.004
Talking with some of the veteran karters, the track hasn't changed much from this morning. Track has a lot of grip to it with the Bridgestone YLC tires mounted.
