Hey Ken, as if building a TaG Enduro wasn't enough work! Love the amount of innovation that you have shown in your karts and engines. One question though, what kart are you planning on putting this on? Is it possible that we will soon have a thread on here about the "Blown Clone" Enduro? Very Happy

Jeff,
Right now it's on an 07 Buller Velocity dirt chassis for testing..

It was destined for Robeling Road to test on a laydown but never made it.. Dom was going to run it.. had issues with the carb slide sticking because the blower pulled a huge depression on the back side of the DAP 34mm Alky carb.. that was a real eye opener..

Fixed it by putting a big ol' 38mm BM gas butterfly Mikuni jetski carb on it.. but it turned out to be too big and got lazy.. then the crank broke @ 8800rpms..
and took out the bottom end/cam..

Have a brand new decked/align bored/honed block and sidecover along with a genuine Honda crank from a Canadian 160 racing team that will end up pulling duty one of these days along with a special Dynocams "Blower grind"

Less lift on the exhaust side, but more duration and different CL's Smile

It was a really interesting project to build and listen to it's first breath.. may end up trying that thing as a vacuum pump after I rebuild the engine this next time.. sorry, never got any footage before she blew up.. hopefully in the future.. Embarassed

Hi Ken,

Looks like fun but I don't think you'll ever get decent reliability from industrial engines. I've found that Animals can stand up to 25 hp and clones about 19hp before reliability goes to heck. For what you have into this project I'd recommend going with a JR Racecar billet block.

Thanks for sharing this kind of cool stuff with the sprint world, dirt oval racers get to see open class running at their local tracks quite often but sprint karters might not even be aware of the innovation going on with small engines.

I'm in the process of moving my shop into a new space and just packed up my engine bench, hopefully this winter I'll be able to get to some of the fun projects I have Cool

Got to keep the FUN in karting.. don't think I will build another 4 stroke, it was just a project to see if I could make it run well.. and by the seat of the pants I felt.. it was way beyond 19HP.. pulled pretty good @ 12psi.

Besides, I kind of have a weak spot for those nasty 2 strokes.

My first love in karting is for innovation and building big hp 4 strokes. However, the LO-206 has an excellent spot in the sport for those who would rather run a "spec" class and not have to worry about being beat my "more HP". This is a well thought out packge that happens to be affordable and available to everyone. Plus, I like to buy them back at the end of one or two seasons of racing. They make excellent building blocks for modifieds. Very Happy

The clone allowed me to get started in karting with my wife going back to school for the year. I don't have $1000 for a WF and no one races the LO206 around here. I've got about $350 into my entire drivetrain including 5 different driver sprockets, 6 rear sprockets, an extra clutch, extra jets, and upgraded filter/intake/header/muffler.
No race gas or expensive pre-mix oils, and will be better than not doing anything next year.
