Wow we had record rain last night and it got a little scary... water came up to about 8" above the bottom of the door at the shop, so we have alot of cleaning to do. Track is in great condition and the weather is looking really nice for the weekend so it should be some great racing.
Phones are also down so if anyone needs to contact the track please call 970-250-4663. |

Craig and I got here this afternoon. Get yourself some GOOD directions before you come because Garmin won't recognize the physical address and when you punch in the track name it takes you several miles away into the middle of a neighborhood... Take a look at an old school map because you can take better roads that avoid sharp round-abouts once you get off I-70.
That being said... it was beautiful weather today until a little dust devil came by around 3:30 this afternoon, but then settled back down. Hopefully that was it for bad weather for this weekend. I'll walk around the pits tomorrow and snap some pictures. |

EKN Trackside Live: Thursday Move-in Day
Hello race fans!
Preparations continue here at Grand Junction Motor Speedway as move-in has begun for the 2011 Mothers Polish SummerNationals. The weather is great here today, although it's going to be nice and hot. A few trailers rolled in last night, like Tony Kart West, Phil Giebler Racing, Northwest Race Karts and DRT Racing, and more are arriving every hour.
The GJMS crew are working their tails off to complete preparations for the event and everything is looking great. The track will be opened for their rental fleet of CRGs today, which will give people a chance to sample the track. Speaking of the track, I've never been here before, but I'm glad I finally made the trip. The layout is stellar with lots of elevation changes and a great mix of straightaways and technical corners. I think this track is going to be extremely racy this weekend.
GJMS and SKUSA have organized a golf tournament for this afternoon, which will be awesome, and the weekend itself promises to be exciting. Stay tuned for more information, once EKN hits the ground running tomorrow. Our EKN Live audio broadcast is being presented by CRG USA, and is also supported by Courtney Concepts, SRS Racing Engines and the new Ultra Kart chassis program, which will detail more throughout the weekend. We'd like to take this time to thank these companies for supporting EKN!
More to come..... |

Really wished I could have been able to make it to the event. SKUSA should really look into doing some east coast races _________________ www.checkeredmotorsports.com
