Jeff, you get what you pay for.

I do not buy the over priced high maintenance knock on the ICC! Comparing the ICC to the moto has to be done with a level playing field.

I hear the moto chant....that it is cheaper and runs forever. Take a look at the posts in shifter karts and tech talk. most are moto problems.

A well set up KZ will run with zero problems and out perform the moto.

Racing is going to cost money. Let's not dilute real racing with five & dime substitutes.

Yeah I know. I don't see many KZ crank breaks, only timely rebuilds. But it is nothin' compared to the moto scrap yard I see on these posts. Smile

Worst case it costs $125 to fix the occasional cracked pipe, I know the parts for a KZ crank refresh is at least twice that!!!

I'll take the occasional cracked pipe, you can keep the KZ cranks!!!

5 years of road race.
I have not cracked a pipe. My EGT is frequently 1400+ degrees. EGT gauge port located 3.875" from the beginning of the pipe.

I have used home built mounts and the Hegar mounts.

Of course the kart is a garage queen this year though.

just my opinion and just to stir the pot Laughing

but all you guys in the stock moto, mod moto, icc, fc, tag icc....pissing match...

should go all (motor builders, importers, drivers, wanna bees that just chime in cause they own one or the other---(thats me)) and race a spec kart and see who can drive and tune.

instead of coming on here to see who can give props or dis one package over the other.

because drivers drive what is sold to them and motor builders, shops, and importers sale what they have.

nobody drives what is "best" on the market,,,the sanctioning bodies see to that, and only one person can sale the "best" if it exists.

i am willing to bet, some of you with your favorite motor cant keep it together, others will crash, and some of you will jet incorrectly anyway. and what i like about racing the most...

only one man/woman wins in the end. and that is the best package on the track for that event on that day.

line em up boys....when they gonna make that 125 shifer open class? so you guys can open the check books up and run up the credit cards to solve this perceived problem once and for all?

hehehe stir stir stir! and yes i have owned and driven both!

They have it already....

WKA CIK 125 Shifter, or WKA 125 Shifter, in the road race series. You can run a stock Honda, a Mod Honda, or a ICC motor in those classes.

Or F125 out here on the west coast-Road racing as well.

Heck some of us have run a stock honda in that class against full mods, and ICC's and done reasonably well.

Is this an open class though? Ie can you run FC or SICC or "once-off" motors?
