I wanted to thank all the drivers who are at Gingerman that made a point of coming over to my guys at the track today!
The CA boys are having a great time at your event, and are ready to race tomorrow!

Charlie had a good talkin with them and they got there race in today before the hard rain hit. Glad to hear they had a good time and hope the flight back was a safe one.
The weekend was a safe one with no red flags. Entries were low due to the rain on Sunday and other area races going on but that didn't stop the good racing. I saw at least 3 photo finishes. One involving Tackett getting beat to the line by a hair. It was a great clean race between him and Barth.
I hope to have a story in two weeks with results and season end Dunlop Mid States Points posted on the MKC website.

Yeah, that was one heck of a race on Saturday! Ted and Mark Barth, once they pulled away from the pack, ran the entire race rarely ever more than a few kart lengths apart from each other, swapping the lead, etc. COming down the long straight into the 90 that connects it to the start finish straight, Ted pulled to the inside and out braked Mark into the corner. Mark countered by letting Ted carry thru drifting wide and diving back under neath Ted on the exit. From there on it was a flat out side by side drag race to the finish. Was hard to tell who got there first from where we were, but Mark got him by inches. After 30min of running, only .03sec seperated them at the line! It was one of the closest, cleanest and best races I've seen in long time.
Deb, you didn't tell us to be on the look out for another long hair hippie! Could sure pick out them CA dudes.....suntans and shorts! Was nice talkin' to your hubby, but I promised him I wouldn't repeat on the forum some of the stories he told all of us about you!

Aparently I'm a few bricks short of a pallet, because I didn't put the harper from California information to use! Sorry I didn't stop by and introduce myself!

What happened to the bail money I loaned Tom and Tim Saturday night? South Haven has a pretty clean jail. Tim was a little nervous though around those Michigan biker types.
See Charlie, you would fit right in on the "Left Coast."
It was really great seeing them after, like 12 years. It only goes to prove that karters may grow old but they will never grow up.
Hope to see them around here next season!

yep Charlie, our Crew Chief Tim OD has the long hair! Tom says he got sunburned on Sat, and got dumped on on Sunday.
Since our driver (in his borrowed kart from the LAD folks) looped it in his first lap of practice on Sun, he entered the 1st class of the day, in addition to the class he was dialed in for so that he could get some track time. Good thing he did, as he wouldn't have gotten any laps at all in if he hadn't before the rain hit.
I hear the rain at Gingerman made the rain at Porland look like sissy stuff!
The boys all made it home just fine, although I have not heard about any exciting "man trip" adventures yet... time will tell!
Thanks again all of you! |
