If you live in and around the Pacific NW, this info is for you. It's a bit preliminary but "on the table" nevertheless.
The Karting Center at Lynnwood Cycle Barn, in conjunction with SSC, is putting together a Pacific Northwest RotaxMax roadracing series for 2002. Details are still a bit sketchy, however, the series will embody the "RotaxMax Challenge engine rules" as well as "spec" bodywork". The bodywork is very attractive, was designed in a windtunnel, includes a "cosmetic wing", and it mounts up to standard sprint CIK nose and sidepod brackets. It's designed so you can change from CIK bodywork to roadrace bodywork in a very short time. The bodywork is of a 5 piece design: sidepanels, nosepiece, driver fairing and wing. The tyres sit within the sidepanels. A belt drive system is also currently being developed as an option to chain drive.
I was informed earlier that the prototype will be on display at the Fall IKF meeting in Federal Way, Washington.

I thought it was in Federal Way, was there a venue change? |
